In March this year Butchart Marine Services delivered a Roodberg HBC38 hydraulic slipway trailer to Seaview Marina in New Zealand. Their hardstand area also operates a 50t mobile boat hoist however they were looking for a solution to move specific catamaran ferries that are being built onsite in a very tight shed. The Roodberg HBC38 is designed to be able to move in under any vessels, lift them out and deliver them straight to the launch site. The physical size of the boat hoist made it impossible to use that machine to remove it from the shed.
In addition, the Roodberg trailer has opened up a new market for Seaview Marina with their first lift being a 38’ sailing catamaran which previously would not have been possible with their existing machinery. It will also speed up the process of hauling out, and launching, all vessels with various hull shapes up to approx. 65’.
The delivery of this new Roodberg hydraulic slipway trailer brings the number of these machines in New Zealand to seven with a 20t, another 38t, 1 x 47t, 2 x 60t and 1 x 80t trailers already operating there.

Roodberg hydraulic trailers are proving to be a very popular machine for not only hauling out catamarans but all vessels as they can easily and efficiently handle virtually any hull shape. With more Roodberg trailers either on the water or in build at the factory, they are becoming the machine of choice for Australian and New Zealand boatyards.
